Story
The runners, walkers, scooters and slow-coaches of Team Olive are back! We are taking part in the ‘RBC Race for the Kids 2019’ at Hyde Park on Saturday 12th October.
The RBC Race for the Kids is Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity’s annual 5k family fun run.
We'll be taking part with thousands of other people to raise vital funds and transform young lives.
The Olive Martin Brighter Future Fund
We setup the Olive Martin Brighter Future Fund in 2014 in memory of our daughter Olive who died of a very complex heart condition aged just 6 weeks. Thanks to amazing support from friends and family we've already raised over £38,484.
The fund has already bought a £9,000 TOE heart probe and £10,000 towards ground-breaking heart research. To support the major redevelopments at GOSH, we have allocated the rest of the Fund towards the creation of a new specialist cardiac unit dedicated to tackling heart failure in children. The new 14 bed unit (which is now open) will provide the foundations and infrastructure for world-leading experts to provide first class clinical care to children with heart failure and lead a pioneering programme of research focused on developing new and better devices that can buy children more time while waiting for a life-saving transplant.
Olive’s Fund is enabling GOSH make the improvements necessary at the hospital, so please support Team Olive and give generously or even better JOIN US — click ‘Join the team’ button or link on this page.
Why Great Ormond Street Hospital needs our help.
Every day bring new challenges at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH). Every day, 619 children and young people from across the UK arrive. The money raised from RBC Race for the Kids will help to fund ground-breaking research; advanced equipment; child and family support services and the rebuilding and refurbishment of wards and medical facilities.
Over the last 10 years RBC Race for the Kids has raised an incredible £5 million for the hospital. In celebration of the 10th anniversary, Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity are hoping to raise £1 million from this year’s event. With your support we can get there.
And every day is a chance for you to make a difference. This extraordinary hospital has always depended on charitable support to give seriously ill children the best chance to fulfil their potential.
