Children's Air Ambulance is holding a Channel Swim Relay event between the 4th and 8th of September covering 22 miles between Dover and Calais, with 4 teams of six, swimmers will take it in turn to swim the channel in rotation.

Story

This unique event will take place between 10th-14th June 2021.

Swimming the channel in a relay on average takes around 14 hours and the temperature in the water ranges from 14C to 18C but can plummet to 6C.

The channel swim relay is a physical and mental challenge, one that can be achieved with support, willpower and the right preperation.

About the charity

The Children’s Air Ambulance is an inter-hospital transfer service flying critically ill babies and children from one hospital to another for specialist care. With our ability to fly approximately four times faster than a land ambulance, we can minimise travel times and the risk for patients.
