Story
Update
We did it, 26.8 miles (43.1 km) from the sea to the moor and back again.
A bit cold, occasionally spitting turning to rain - we had to shelter once on the way up and it rained properly whilst we were getting lunch in Yelverton, but the ride down is a fast gentle downhill so we just pressed on with freezing slight rain and cold wind chilling us to the marrow.
At least we are free to choose and could enjoy a hot bath and toasted tea cake when we got home - unlike those who the money is helping.
Thank you to all of the people who have donated - that's far more important work than going for a silly winter cycle ride. Kudos to you all.
When?
On 2nd March, we joining thousands of others around the world to Ride up to 26 miles in solidarity with Palestinians at the same time as the annual Palestine Marathon was due to take place.
What?
Assembling 11am on Plymouth Hoe, departing 11:30 for a short parade through the city centre then on the cycle path out to Copypool as a group. From there up Drakes Trail at your own pace, turning back when youv'e done half your distance. Some will be going all the way to Yelverton for tea and cake before returning. Eta back at the Hoe 3:30pm
Why?
Home demolitions, illegal settlements, land confiscations, the illegal Separation Wall. These are daily realities for Palestinians living in the West Bank. 'The Wall' refers to the illegal Separation Wall (750km long) that cuts deep into the West Bank.
In Gaza, nowhere is safe. Over 30.000 people have been murdered, 70% of these are women and children, over 50,000 injured and 1.9 million people have been displaced. It is a humanitarian disaster where people are facing starvation and the rapid spread of disease.

Please help Amos Trust raise £60,000 - the £30,000 for emergency relief in Gaza, and £30,000 they need to rebuild a Palestinian home on the West Bank that was destroyed by the Israeli Authorities as a beacon of hope that people around the world care.
