Story
The Allan family are delighted to be joined by good friends who have supported us both personally and professionally through our own cancer journey to go "off the Beatson Track" in Tillicoultry and Dollar this year!
Russell was diagnosed with oesophageal cancer in November 2019 and quickly began treatment at the Beatson Cancer Centre. He underwent 4 rounds of FLOT chemotherapy followed by an oesophagectomy at the Glasgow Royal Infirmary in early March, just as the country went into lockdown from corona Virus. Once recovered, he returned to the Beatson for another 4 rounds of FLOT chemo, and thankfully we have just been signed off from their care.
The Beatson and NHS staff of GRI have been absolutely amazing throughout our journey, providing support to all members of the family and care to Russell whilst undergoing treatment. We are so grateful to them all and delighted to be able to help raise funds for the Beatson by taking part in Off The Beatson Track this year and have been joined by our really good friends and their kids to scoot and walk a 10km route around the river Devon in Tillicoultry and Dollar, Clackmannanshire. (In a safe and socially distant manner of course!)
Thank you for coming to look at our fundraising page - please help us raise funds for this amazing charity which makes such a huge difference to people undergoing treatment at the Beatson and their families!
