A race through the mud and water of the river Blackwater at Maldon in Essex. A great way of raising funds for many charities. A fun day for all. In 2023 you can enter a team, come in fancy dress, or just take part...

Story

8 players from Southminster United Women‘s team will take on the Maldon Mud Race 2023 in memory of Liam Phillips, who we sadly lost in October 2022 🤍

Liam wasn‘t only the manager of the team, he was our funny, supportive and caring friend who helped build the foundations of an amazing women’s football team. Liam‘s effort and commitment to the team was unmatched, likewise for his belief in each individual player. He will forever be in our hearts 💙

To continue Liam’s legacy, we are tackling the mud race in May to raise funds for Cancer Research UK, of whom study ways in which all cancers can be prevented, diagnosed and treated. 50% of the funds raised will also go to Maldon Mud Races’ chosen charities, which also includes Farleigh Hospice who supported Liam and his family in his final days 💚

All donations made are hugely appreciated ❤️
