Steven passed away within 11 weeks of being diagnosed with a rare Oesophageal and Gastic Cancer, which went on to spread to other areas.

Steven showed many of the common symptoms of these cancers, but unfortunately with these cancers sometimes by the time symptoms appear, it can be too late.

Before Steven passed away I told him we would climb mountains for him to help raise awareness of the rare stomach and oesophageal cancer he had. I told him I would meet him at the top of every mountain and shout his name, to which he responded with "I'd like that"

We will be climbing together, in memory of Steven and for Steven and we would like as many people to do this with us.

All proceeds will be going to Guts UK towards the Less Survivable Cancer team which is highly underfunded.

Oesophageal and stomach cancer are priorities for Guts UK. They have one breath-test oesophageal cancer research project ongoing and one for stomach cancer too looking into how biopsies are taken and DNA too.

We need to raise more awareness, empowering people to seek help sooner because especially with these cancers, the sooner they are diagnosed, the more we can actually give people a fighting chance!

Climbing Snowdonia is just one of the many things we will be doing to raise awareness of these rare cancers. We will be climbing Snowdonia on May 18th - Wish us all luck, we're going to need it. Especially Mumma Josie!
