Story
We're taking on 100 miles in April! We are challenging ourselves to walk or run 100 miles throughout April while also raising money to rebuild lives after stroke.
On 13th March this year, my husband, Steve, suffered a stroke as a result of a blood clot forming in a neck artery and shooting up into the middle of the right side of his brain. This left Steve without the use of the left side of his body.
Watching somebody you love suffer like this is incredibly frightening. Luckily, Steve is a strong person who is determined to regain his independence back!
Myself (Tania) and Steve's three daughters Amy, Connie and Molly are making the time withinin our already busy days to walk each day in honour of all those who have suffered a stroke....... not to mention all the incredible professionals that support and rehabilitate those affected!
We will be so grateful to anyone who wishes to sponsor us to help raise money for Stroke Association in aid of the incredible work they do.
Thank you so much from us all!
100 miles in April is a fun way for us all to keep active and raise vital funds to help rebuild lives after stroke. Your fundraising can help in incredible ways:
• £150 could help pay for research into new stroke treatments, such as thrombolysis, a clot-busting drug that returns the blood supply to the brain that has transformed the outcomes of stroke survivors who have received it.
• £250 could pay for one hour of Helpline activity, helping the families of stroke survivors support their loved ones after stroke.
• £300 could enable a Co-ordinator to demonstrate how to use My Stroke Guide to a stroke survivor, empowing them to take control of their recovery and feel less isolated
