1) Alopecia UK - A study published in 2022 reported that adults with alopecia areata were 30 to 38% more likely to be diagnosed with depression. Depression doesn’t cause the disease, but the disease can cause depression.

I joined Alopecia as a Trustee because I wanted to help give children & teenagers the confidence and tools to live their best life, in preparation for adulthood.

2) Hospice in the Weald - Cared for my teenage cousin who was diagnosed with a brain tumour, shortly after his 14th birthday. He defied the odds and the medical experts for more than 5 years before finding peace at just 19yrs old, in August 2013.
