Story
Stephen was passionate about many things over his lifetime. We’ve chosen 3 charities which reflect the ones closest to his heart.
A country boy at heart, trees played a massive part in his life, and he planted several in his various gardens over the years. He spent many happy hours walking his border collies in woodlands managed by the Woodland Trust.
Stephen was successfully treated for prostate cancer at the Royal Marsden Hospital in London in 2011. This charity is important to us as the work they do directly benefited Stephen and gave him precious additional years.
The situation in Palestine mattered greatly to Stephen. He possessed such a strong sense of fairness and was incensed by the injustice that is being suffered by so many. This charity is building friendship, trust and reconciliation between Israeli and Palestinian children and their communities. Its aim is to develop a shared spirit via arts, education, health and sports programmes, so future generations might live and work peacefully side-by-side.
