Event: Lake District Mighty Hike 2024 - half marathon, on 16 June 2024
We're hiking a half or full marathon in the stunning Lake District in June 2024 to raise vital funds for people living with cancer.

Story

Last year our Mum was diagnosed with cancer and we have seen first hand how cancer affects not only the individuals personally but their family and friends. Like many families who find themselves in this position, we would like to do something positive to give back at a time when events can seem out of control.

Our team, Michael (me), Matthew and our Dad, John, will take on a Mighty Hike in the Lake District to raise money for people living with cancer this June. The Lake District holds many happy family memories for us as we spent many holidays here during our childhoods. Matthew and his family, and my parents, now live within a short distance of the National Park. The hike will take us down the length of the western shores of Ullswater.

As a team, we have pledged to raise £750 and would appreciate any support in reaching this. By fundraising our pledge, we could each pay for a Macmillan Support Worker for two days who could provide emotional, practical and financial advice to someone affected by cancer.
