Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit our just giving page.

As many of you will know, our good friend & coach Andrew Ditty was diagnosed with motor neurone disease in 2013. Andy continued to coach the St James Spitfires and never missed a game or training session, despite the decline in his health.

Unfortunately Andy suffered with MND for 7 years and ultimately passed away in October 2020. The Ditty family are still great friends to many of us and know the support they have all received throughout the last few years has been touching.

In light of Kevin Sinfields fantastic ongoing work, we have decided to join him on his 7 in 7 challenge from the 13th-19th November. Kevin is running 60km every day, for 7 days.

We will not be aiming to do this individually, but as St James Spitfires we will be looking to match or exceed the total distance in memory of our dear friend Andy Ditty, by running at least 7km a day for 7 days each.

We all will be doing this for Andy, and the fantastic work that MNDA do in both the research and care for people who suffer from this cruel disease. If you would like to find out more please click here.

Any donation will be greatly received. Thank you!
