Story
Five ladies from South Cave will be running 5k in December in Santa suits to support this wonderful charity which provides vital care and support to local people and their families. Charities have suffered a loss of income during the pandemic and this is an opportunity to help them continue in their good work.
Dove House Hospice has been caring for people in Hull East Yorkshire for almost 40 years. Patients and families are at the heart of everything we do, whether we are caring for people at the end of their lives, providing therapies to help people with life limiting illnesses improve their quality of life, or giving much needed bereavement support to grieving families.
Last year our amazing runners raised over £12,000 to support our patients over the festive period and beyond, so this year we are once again asking you to don your Santa suits in support of your local hospice. Every penny has a huge impact on our patients, for example; £25 could pay for a patient to enjoy a lovely homecooked Christmas dinner with all the trimmings.
£110 - could pay for a patient to enjoy a music therapy session - listening to their favourite Christmas songs, singing Christmas carols and playing instruments.
£375 - could cover the cost of a patient's care for a day over the festive period.
