Story
We lost our daughter Mila Doreen Seal on the 06/05/2022 and she was born on the 10/05/2022. The Lily Mae foundation raises money for memory boxes for bereaved families. They also offer councilling which really helps families through this difficult time.
Mila was very active from 18 weeks but I felt less movement one day and decided to go get checked expecting we’d go there and be straight home. We did not come straight home. It was a complete shock and I was 23+5 days pregnant. The next few days were torturous as I had to be on wards with expectant mothers and give birth on the labour ward surrounded by noises of babies crying and women giving birth. This has now left me with PTSD. Upon leaving we were presented with a memory box supplied by the Lily Mae foundation, without this we would have left with nothing. They even provide two small toys and a blanket you can seperate, so half was buried with mila and half we kept. They also supply other things including info on grief and other mementos. We didn’t have a post mortem but they looked at the placenta. My placenta had vascular issues and mila had a hypercoiled cord (like a telephone wire) so it was put down to loss of blood supply to the placenta. A complete and total unfortunate unexpected tragedy.
We raise money every year for the charity as they provide so much to bereaved families. We were blessed in January 2024 with our daughter Lena who will always know she has a sister and carries Mila’s spirit with her 👼🏻🌈
Any little helps and we want other parents to know they are not alone and there is light at the end of the tunnel 🙏🏻
