Story
1 in 3 low-income American families struggles to afford basic non-food household goodsincluding products related to personal care, household care & baby careand, as a result, make trade-offs with other living expenses & employ coping strategies to secure essential household goods. On top of that, non-food purchases are ineligible for government assistance programs
When Utah Food Bank first started their Mobile School Pantry program, they met with teachers, principals, and school counselors. They asked them what is most needed by the children they serve. One answer came up again and again: laundry detergent & other personal care items.
This often leaves personal care items completely out of reach. School staff see firsthand how the lack of laundry detergent, shampoo, or other hygiene items negatively impacts socialization & leaves young people vulnerable to bullying.
Help ensure that Utah Food Bank can meet all of the basic needs of our neighbors with a donation today!
