We support MSers to acknowledge their MS & get on with life

Story

Hello, thank you for visiting our JustGiving page!

To mark 10 years of being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, I am partnering up with London Silent Book Club to host a read-a-thon to raise money for Shift.ms: a charity founded by MSers for MSers.

When I was diagnosed with MS at 18, I didn't know anyone else who had MS. Being diagnosed with a progressive, long-term health condition was challenging enough to process and accept during such a life-changing and early point of my life, but doing that without having anyone to share experiences with or ask questions to was even more difficult. Coming across Shift.ms has been truly life-changing; I'm so grateful that, because of Shift.ms, I get to be part of such a supportive and kind community of MSers from all over the world who are always there to support, provide guidance and advice, and I can do the same for others too.

Here are some of the amazing things that Shift.ms do that your donations will help to support:

- Provide an online forum where people living with MS can meet, ask questions, provide support and share their experiences for other MSers

- Coordinate a Buddy programme that connects newly diagnosed MSers with other people who have been living with MS for a longer time to help them through the initial stages of the diagnosis (and to make MS friends!)

- Produce videos and blog content to raise awareness of what it is like to live with MS
