Story
Alder Hey Children's Charity raises vital funds to help make Alder Hey Children's Hospital a truly world-class, patient-friendly hospital for the 330,000 patients and families they care for every year. Since 2013, over £65m has been raised for a range of life-saving medical equipment and facilities that are making a real difference to families every day.
Sarah's incredible niece Lucy was diagnosed with a terminal brain tumor in May 2019. She came here to Alder Hey and received the most amazing care.
Her strength courage and determination as well as the remarkable surgeons ensured that Lucy could spend precious and invaluable time making memories with her beautiful family. This is something which they are and always will be eternally grateful for those extra special months gifted by Alder Hey.
Helen's children Olivia and Oscar were both born extremally prematurely weighing just 1lb 9 oz and 2lb 2 oz.
They both had surgery here at Alder Hey due to complications and Olivia multiple surgeries. 10 years later receives the most remarkable care and management from her friends at Alder Hey and will continue to do so throughout her life.
We will never be able to repay Alder Hey but in Lucy's memory and a continued thank you from Olivia, Sarah and Helen alongside Aunties Sally & Charlie want to just give something back to this remarkable hospital so they can continue their incredible work. We have all been involved and see what impact the hospital has for both children and their families.
We're taking on this challenge at night into sunrise and understand it will be a very tough but are doing it to just give anything back as Lucy quite rightly said everybody needs a rainbow in their life 🌈
