In memory of Phil Shone
Our wonderful supporters are taking on a variety of challenge fundraising activities in 2025 from skydives to running events for Alcohol Change UK.

Story

Alcohol is something that our Dad battled with throughout his life and ultimately played a role in losing it.

Dad always talked about a love for bicycles both repairing and riding. He would often tell us stories of him camping, getting lost and long adventures he went on.

The Shone boys will be cycling from Bristol to Fort William, Scotland. The first location of a calamitous holiday all 3 of us remember very fondly.

In the words of Dad “No Pain, No Gain”

The money raised will support a charity called Alcohol Change UK.

"Alcohol Change UK is a leading UK alcohol charity. We work for a society that is free from the harm caused by alcohol.

We are not anti-alcohol; we are for alcohol change. We are for a future in which people drink as a conscious choice, not a default; where the issues which lead to alcohol problems – like poverty, mental health issues, homelessness – are addressed; where those of us who drink too much, and our loved ones, have access to high-quality support whenever we need it, without shame or stigma."
