Southgate Mosque: A Thriving Community Centre of Excellence for All

Southgate Mosque is not merely a place of worship; it stands as a vibrant and inclusive community centre in North London, promoting UNITY among people of all backgrounds and offering a powerful platform for COLLABORATION and COMMUNITY SERVICE. We take pride in providing essential services to those in need, including our weekly FOOD BANK serving 110 families, and providing a platform through which our community can provide DISASTER RELIEF funds. Our Mosque is always busy with its wide range of volunteer-run SOCIAL AND YOUTH CLUBS, EDUCATIONAL CLASSES, and exciting COMMUNITY EVENTS catering to all groups.

We are immensely grateful to have acquired the historic Grade II listed building, Southgate House, which now symbolises diversity and community spirit in the heart of Southgate. Once the residence of the viceroy of India and later a secondary school, it has now become a mosque serving Southgate's growing Muslim population. Through the unwavering efforts of our dedicated community, through donations and loans, we've completed the £6.65 million purchase price. In this blessed month of Ramadan 2024, we now seek help to pay back all our small loans and secure the future of Southgate Mosque, Insha'Allah (God willing).

OUR VISION for the future includes restoring our HISTORIC BUILDING whilst preserving its original features, and transforming it into a dynamic and multipurpose space for the entire community. Beyond being a much-needed place of WORSHIP, we aim to establish a full-time Islamic SCHOOL for our children, educational facilities for adults, a pre-school NURSERY, a COMMUNITY CENTRE offering support and services for people of all age groups and diverse needs, including FAMILY, YOUTH, and the ELDERLY. We envision marriage and parenting programs, funeral services, MULTI-FAITH ACTIVITIES, and a vibrant SOCIAL HUB for Muslims from all walks of life. Furthermore, we plan a tranquil ECO-GARDEN and an expansion of our well-established food bank services.

We have laid all the groundwork for this AMAZING PROJECT through our grassroots volunteer-led efforts and already provide incredible value to our local community, but there is so much more to come.
