Story
Thanks for visiting our JustGiving Team Page. Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure.
In September, we (Richard and Simon) are embarking on the Screwball Rally 2024, a light-hearted fundraising event where participants tour parts of northern Europe in creatively customised vehicles, each bought for less than £1000.
After taking part a few years ago with a Star Trek themed vehicle, we're revisiting Screwball in 2024 and our chosen theme this year is the Paris-Dakar Rally. We're transforming a Citroen Berlingo into a Camel Trophy desert rally Land Rover. Well, Richard is, really, being the mechanically skilled one. Plus we're over 500 miles from each other.
Look on either of our fundraiser pages (or both) linked below to see the transformation Richard's made in getting "Bertie" up to scratch mechanically, and dressing a light van up in a 4X4 costume! Keep visiting to see updates as things progress! There's lots of work on the go.
This event is not just about fun, it's about making a difference and the Screwballers raise large amounts each year, raising awareness and encouraging charitable donations.
We are raising funds for two causes close to our hearts and our goal was to raise £1,000 between us for the two. However, thanks to the hugely kind donation from Back of Broadband, we've already reached that target, so we've had to raise the bar even higher. Thanks to the BoBBs! and may the contributions continue, whether large or small, every donation makes a big difference!
We'd prefer to have a single collection bucket which is divided equally between our chosen charities, but unfortunately it's not possible to set up the Team like that in JustGiving. So please use the links below to donate any way you'd like, and hopefully it will balance out in the end.
Simon is raising funds in memory of mum Christine Shaw who passed away earlier this year. Donations will support Alzheimer's Society UK.
Richard is supporting Cancer Research UK.
Please wish us luck, and donate if you can! (Don't forget to choose the Gift Aid option if you're eligible.)
