Story
Rose is raising much deserved funds for both York Special Care Baby Unit Support Group and The Children's Hospital Charity in Sheffield - and we need your help!
On 7th October, it's 13 years since Rose was born at just 29 weeks weighing 2lb 2oz. Rose was born at York District Hospital, after there was no space in the NICU at our local hospital.
Rose was critically ill when she was born and both of her tiny lungs collapsed - it was the scariest time of our lives. The amazing neonatal team saved her life. The care and support we received was second to none.
Rose has chronic lung conditions that she has dealt with over the last 13 years. Sheffield Children's Hospital has nursed her back to health (on more occasions than we can remember!) since being a tiny baby. Rose remains under their care, even as she becomes a teenager this month - they take such fantastic care of her and continue to keep her well.
This is why Rose is aiming to swim 45 miles in the 11 weeks between now and 18th December which was her due date. The 45 miles represents the distance between York District Hospital and our home at the time.
We will forever be in these two hospitals' debt -- and this is Rose's way of thanking them. Any sponsorship amount is very much appreciated.
Thank you so much for your support
