Story
The SASRA PARAS'10 is not just any ordinary event. It is a gruelling 10-mile march at Catterick, where participants like us will v the course in boots. This event was founded by WO1 JJ Wilson and hosted by The Parachute Regiment in Aldershot from 1982-1993. It is based on the infamous 'P Company Test Week' march, which marks the end of rigorous training for recruits.
During this challenging march over undulating terrain, recruits are assessed and scored across various events. The first task is to complete a 10-mile march within an impressive time limit of 1 hour and 50 minutes. Each recruit carries not only their own weight but also a heavy bergen filled with essential supplies.
By participating in this event, we aim to raise vital funds for SASRA's gospel work. SASRA has been tirelessly spreading the message of hope and faith among military personnel for years. Their dedication to providing spiritual support and guidance is truly inspiring.
SASRA is a Christian organisation that serves the spiritual welfare of the British Armed Forces. Working alongside military chaplains and welfare teams, SASRA Scripture Readers (who are all military veterans) support military personnel, bringing with them the hope of Christ into the military community.
We invite you to join us in supporting this worthy cause by making a donation through JustGiving. Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast, and secure.
