Story
I’m hiking to the bottom of the top of the world!
a.k.a. Everest Base Camp!
It’s a 16 day trek, with a few days for acclimatisation in there. It’s going to be a challenge, mentally and physically. I am super excited, nervous, scared, anxious.. all the emotions!
I’ll be flying out mid-March 2024 to Kathmandu, Nepal, then an internal flight to Lukla, where my trek will begin.
Starting elevation: 2,800 meters (9,200 feet) at Lukla.
Peak elevation: 5,364 meters (17,598 feet) at Everest Base Camp.
The whole trip, flights and kit is paid for. It’s something I personally want to do and challenge myself. However, it’s a great opportunity to raise some money for two amazing charities!
Crohn’s and Colitis UK - The research new medications for treatment for those suffering with IBD. They also raise awareness on this stigmatised illness.
Oakleaf Enterprise - A local charity that supports adults managing their mental health and giving them the skills for the workplace and more.
I know not everyone is in a position to, but if you’re able, I would appreciate any donation you can (big or small!) to either of these charities.
More info & updates will be shared closer to the time !
