Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
My amazing, fabulous baby girl, Sara seen this n the Diabetes UK website and asked me if we could please do this years challenge and try to get as much funding as possible to make that possibility of a cure that wee bit closer. How could, I possibly have refused.....with myself being type 1 diabetic for 51 years (I know hard to believe I'm a day over 35 🤣) as well as my boy (for once i mean Dillon and not Fred 😁) my brother, 2 nieces and my nephew.
So this is definitely a charity close to my heart. The improvements in diabetes care have been phenomenal in my lifetime - the difference from the treatment when I was diagnosed to when Dillon was diagnosed is honestly night and day. The technology nowadays is amazing and I am one of the lucky few as I am now on the closed loop system. However, (always a but with me, I know!) that said, there are still so many (including my family) who are not yet on the closed loop. Also no matter what system you use to control/treat your diabetes, there is always still a major constant worry as that risk of a hypo which if untreated could lead to death is ever present for every, mum, dad, gran, granda, brother, sister, aunt, uncle, friend of anyone with Type 1 diabetes.
.... So please if you can, please donate whatever you can as honestly every single penny does makes a difference
.....also the entertainment value for anyone who sees me in the street, running, walking or joking will be worth it as I am that person who never does any form of exercise this is truly going to be a big ask 😬
