Story
Two years ago, we lost someone very special to our family—our grandma. She was the heart of our home, always there with a warm smile, endless love, and words of encouragement. In her later years, dementia began to take its toll, slowly stealing the memories and moments that defined her vibrant personality. Watching her face this cruel illness was heartbreaking, but it also inspired us to take action.
On April 6th, my mum and I will be running the London Landmarks Half Marathon together in her memory and to raise funds for Dementia UK. This cause is very close to our hearts. Dementia UK works tirelessly to provide care for those living with dementia and to fund vital research that will one day lead to a cure.
Running this race together is our way of celebrating Grandma’s life and honoring her legacy. She was an incredible woman who always encouraged us to take on challenges and live life to the fullest. While she may not be here physically, we feel her spirit driving us forward every step of the way!
We are running not just in her memory but also for the millions of families currently navigating the struggles of dementia. Every donation, no matter how small, will make a difference—whether it’s funding research, providing support services, or raising awareness about this devastating illness.
Please join us in honoring Grandma’s memory by supporting this cause. Let’s work towards a future where no family has to endure the pain of losing a loved one to dementia.
Thank you
