Story

University of Birmingham Islamic Society and Islamic Medical Society have partnered with Mercy Relief for Charity Week 2021. Mercy Relief is a UK-based charity that specialises in delivering necessary aid across Yemen. The project chosen for this year is an emergency medical fund, which will be used for life-saving surgeries on children in Yemen. The money will be used to give operations to children who typically would not be able to afford the cost of these kinds of surgeries, which could result in loss of life, or permanent loss of function. Having this fund ready, with all of your donations, will prevent delay in carrying out treatment and have a huge impact on these children's lives InshaAllah.

Additionally, the money will be raised on behalf of Salmaan Ashraf, a dear friend at UoB who recently passed away. May Allah accept it, and grant Salmaan the highest ranks of Jannah. Ameen.

If you are a UoB student taking part in Charity Week this year, please click 'Join the team' above and follow the steps to create your own fundraising page, which will automatically link the donations on your page to this cause. JazakAllah Khair!
