Story
It has always been my plan to undertake a Charity Challenge every year to raise money for St Barnabas Hospice who looked after Sal so very, very well in the last few months of her life and for the “Sally Scholarship” that Rhiannon and I set up in her name for Nursing students at the University of Brighton.
I was unable to undertake the Challenge last year as I injured myself, but this year I intend to complete 4 long walks, 200 Km in total.
If you would like to make a contribution please choose which Charity you would like to support (or both if you want). Details about the Charities can be found below.
“Sally Scholarship”
Sally Adams was a valued and loved member of the nursing administration team based at the university’s Falmer campus. She sadly died in 2017 and is much missed by her family, colleagues, and friends.
Due to Sally’s commitment to her role and to those nursing students she supported, Sally’s family have generously funded a scholarship to honour her memory.
“Sally loved her job at the University, especially interacting with and helping the students. She was passionate about enhancing the learning experience.
As a family we thought it was appropriate that the Scholarship should assist nursing students to have opportunities to understand patients and communities in settings outside of their clinical placements.
The “Sally Scholarship” has already helped a number of students undertake placements that they would not have been able to attend without the financial assistance of the Scholarship.
