Story
Tom and Julie are walking from Salisbury to Rome via Canterbury, following the ancient pilgrim routes of St Swithun, the Pilgrims Way and the Via Francigena. This. a total distance approaching 2000 km. They are doing this for personal and spiritual reasons but are also raising money for three Salisbury-based charities which are close to their hearts. These are the Stars Appeal for the Salisbury District Hospital where Julie used to work, the Wessex Rivers Trust of which Tom was its first Director, and the Salisbury Cathedral Choral Foundation which provides funding opportunities for young choristers at the cathedral.
This journey began on 15th February 2020: the 800th year of the founding of the present Salisbury Cathedral. However they were stopped in their tracks by the Covid 19 Pandemic as they approached Canterbury. They resumed their journey on 9th March 2022, once the pandemic had eased and restrictions on movement were lifted.
A total of over £13 000 has been raised so far using another platform and a generous donation from the Anton Jurgens Charitable Trust. Tom and Julie hope that you will help them build on this with equal donations to their chosen charities.
Thank you for your support.
