Helen battled cancer with grit and determination for many years. Defying everything it threw her way she never gave in or gave up. After 6 years of fighting terminal cancer on 8th October 2022 it was time to lay that battle to rest.

The support the Hospiscare team gave Helen was invaluable to her and her family. The love, care and compassion they showed throughout her final days at home will never be forgotten and we are truly grateful to have had their support available at this immensely difficult time.

We are hoping to raise funds to continue this vital service so that they can continue to give families the support they need in their most difficult time.

Throughout 2023 I will be taking part in a number of events including the Sir Walter Raleigh Half marathon, the Jurassic Coast and Dartmoor Ultra Marathons and not least the London Marathon, in aid of Hospiscare. This means training hard, putting my best foot forward and taking steps to make a difference. Quite literally.

Hospiscare is a local charity, caring for terminally ill patients and their families across Exeter, Mid and East Devon. Their teams of doctors and nurses offer specialist palliative care, to ensure that patients can make the most of the time they have left.

Hospiscare are a vital part of the local healthcare system and I want to help ensure Hospiscare can continue to be there for the community now and in the future.
