Ladies and gentlemen, sit down (because we are going to be on our feet for long time to come). Welcome to a very exclusive club, RUB CLUB! Unfortunately membership is full, but here is a little insight to 3 friends with a shared love of running that the pandemic moulded in to friendship.

For over a year now we have run on a Tuesday evening, either 2 or 3 of us almost without fail. Through that time, there have been tears (only a few but life is a rollercoaster!) and laughs, and we mean rolling on the canal path holding your sides and having to get up and explain yourself to the passing paddle boarders.......... We have had oversharing and only one of us loves a hill, but we have become a group of mates, you know proper mates that chat in the garden when Covid strikes, with deliveries of wine, butternut squashes and rhubarb when isolating. Through our runs which ended at a pub in the summer months the name Rub Club was formed, combine Run and Pub and you get Rub (plus Pun club is frankly silly). Well, drumroll please......... Rub Club is going on tour!

We have committed to running an Ultra Marathon, a 100km (62 mile) race over two days which we are doing for the challenge and a new experience (current number of marathons between us is........... zero) and definitely something that will take us out of all comfort zones. We have decided to raise money for charities that mean something to all of us and should you want to donate we would be very grateful. We are not running using a charity place, this about the achievement of the race and raising money is a bonus. So there we have a potted history and update from us 3. We all want to add our thanks to our families for allowing us to take on such a crazy challenge!
