We fund research and provide support to improve blood cancer patients' lives

Story

The last couple of years have been hard. Blood Cancer UK, a small charity which is the major UK funder of blood cancer research, lost nearly half its income in 2020. It is, however, still supporting 5,500 people on more than 40 clinical trials; timely since people with blood cancers are the single most vulnerable Covid group.

This is the Round and About Walk team page. Anyone undertaking or supporting this walk in 2022 can join the team and your individual fundraising will be added to our overall total for Blood Cancer UK. We ask for a minimum donation of £10 per walker.

“A great route and a great cause”

This circular Ramble (23 miles) runs between Bishops Castle and Clun, taking in Bury Ditches, the Walcot Estate and bits of the Shropshire Way and Offa’s Dyke. It divides into a fairly gentle Amble (10 miles), more challenging Scramble (13 miles) and shorter distances if you choose. We mark the route thoroughly with arrows, so that even inexperienced walkers can ramble confidently. WE ALSO SUPPLY DETAILED MAPS WITH FULL DIRECTIONS IN ROUGHLY 3-MILE SECTIONS WHEN, AFTER DONATING, YOU SEND YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS TO: jeanshirley@btinternet.com

Our first aim is for you to enjoy the walking and the scenery. If you feel able to donate a bit extra or get sponsorship for your walking for Blood Cancer UK, that would achieve our second aim and make us very happy. Give your friends this link: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/jeanshirley
