Story

On 11 June, six brave Roedean students will be attempting to swim the English Channel! The students have been training intensely over the past couple of months to ensure they are ready to take on this momentous challenge. The students have decided to take this opportunity to fundraise for Rockinghorse, an important charity with close links to Roedean. All money raised will be used to support Rockinghorse Children’s Charity for the Wellbeing Service at the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital and more specifically to fund the sea swimming lessons offered to patients to support physical/mental health and recovery.

About the sea swimming sessions which will be offered at the new well-being site:

“These sessions are brilliant for helping improve the mental health of teenagers with long term conditions. It allows them to be separated from their illness or any health conditions that are going on. They allow them to build confidence, build friendships and more importantly, have fun while enjoying the physical and mental health benefits of being in the sea.’’

£200 could pay for one sea swimming session – supporting children with cancer to rest and recover faster.

Please sponsor the students in this amazing endeavour.
