On September 14th 2024 we’ll be taking part in the Macmillan Northumberland Mighty Hike which is a 26 mile marathon walk along the coast from Alnwick to Bamburgh (with no pub stops on the way!).

Our hiking team is made up of Rick, Tamsin, Ben, Steve, Sam, Eva, Craig & Tracy with support along the way coming from Val, Janet & Wilma the dog, together we’re hoping to raise a combined total of £1500 for Macmillan Cancer who offer valuable help and support to people and their families who are living with cancer.

This year’s hike has particular relevance to our family as we are doing this in support of Janet who is currently receiving treatment for ovarian cancer, since being diagnosed in January 2024 she’s endured countless rounds of chemo and will be undergoing major surgery just a week after our hike.

We are also doing this hike in memory of Dave Ackroyd (Craig’s Dad), Stuart Simpson and Marion Wedgwood (the parents of two of Tracy’s best friends), other family members and for everyone else who have sadly lost their battles with cancer.

With one in two people expected to be diagnosed with Cancer in their lifetime now more than ever Macmillan need our support.
