Story
In memory of our late father, and in support of other families going through similar journeys, I'll be running 4 marathons in 5 weeks during March and April 2023 (Rome, Paris, Manchester, London).
We lost Dad in July 2022 after a 5-year battle with pulmonary fibrosis, one that he fought like a warrior until the very end. I'll therefore be raising money for 'Action for Pulmonary fibrosis' (APF) and Asthma & Lung UK, in order to support these two charities that support others facing these battles.
Pulmonary fibrosis is a progressive condition, in which the only guarantee is that each day will take more from you than the last. For the individuals and their families, watching this decline is beyond devastating, and something that I truly wish nobody else has to experience. Unfortunately, this disease continues to defy modern medicine and more needs to be done to support others.
APF and Asthma & Lung UK are needed now more than ever, and these charities are continuing to operate through the Covid-19 pandemic. Vital research into pulmonary fibrosis is continuing, and the charity is adapting its services to ensure patients and families can access information and support when they need it the most. I am fundraising for both charities to help ensure nobody has to face pulmonary fibrosis alone.
Any support you can give will help APF and Asthma & Lung UK, who continue to be there for anyone affected by pulmonary fibrosis
With both charities funding some places in these marathons, to donate you will need to 'donate to a team member' and select one of the chosen charities. Fundraising targets below:
APF target: £3000
Asthma & Lung UK: £2000
Thank you for your support!
A big thank you to Sam Norman, Stu Forth & James Spencer (Rome) and Robbie Puddick, Harry Spencer, Becca Quinn (Manchester) who'll also be supporting the fundraiser and running with me.
