On 16 October 2022 I will be running my first ever marathon around the scenic Loch Rannoch in Perthshire. This is an incredibly significant event for me, firstly because of the date and secondly because running any distance has been a huge achievement for me over the past few years. This marathon falls exactly 6 years to the day when a previously undetected brain aneurysm ruptured and I suffered a subarachnoid haemorrhage.

I'd like to use this opportunity to try to raise funds for two charities very close to my heart: Headway and Crohn's & Colitis UK . I am fundraising for these charities due to the support both charities have given me and Gary over the past few years, following my subarachnoid haemorrhage in October 2016 and his diagnosis of ulcerative colitis in August 2017.
