Story
Donations will fund a new roof and other repairs for The Pleasaunce, Overstrand, Cromer. Part of Christian Endeavour Holiday Centres. The total cost of replacing the roof alone is estimated to be over £750,000 - a significant amount, but essential to the building’s preservation.
The Pleasaunce, near Cromer, is a cherished Grade 2* listed building, designed by the renowned architect Sir Edwin Lutyens. It holds a special place in the hearts of its visitors and supporters, serving as a vibrant centre for Christian ministry. However, as a listed building, ongoing repairs and preservation efforts are more complex and costly—particularly when it comes to essential work on the roof and other repairs.
We have launched the “Raise the Roof, Restore the Rest” appeal to ensure that The Pleasaunce continues to serve and inspire future generations. Your support is crucial in helping us maintain this historic treasure for years to come.
Where we stand?
Since its recent launch, the fund has already reached £10,000, and we are working hard to increase this total through donations, grants, and fundraising efforts. Every gift, large or small, will make a meaningful impact in helping us achieve our goal. We invite you to join us in this vital project to repair and protect The Pleasaunce, ensuring it remains a beacon of Christian ministry and community for generations to come.
How your donations will help?
All donations to this appeal will go directly into the designated fund, Raise the Roof, Restore the Rest; a restricted fund with the primary aim of replacing the roof and addressing other critical structural repairs . The total cost of replacing the roof alone is estimated to be over £750,000—a significant amount, but essential to the building’s preservation.
Join us in praying for these essential funds and subsequent building repairs.
