Story
For over 35 years I have raised funds for charities from various sponsored long distance cycle rides. I participated in a Ravenswood bike ride in Israel, Dan to Beersheba in November 1992. This was followed by another Israel ride for Ravenswood, from Netanya to Eilat. In later years I cycled London to Paris and London to Amsterdam for Shaare Zedek Hospital, Jerusalem. For my 40th birthday, I did a solo ride from Land's End to John o' Groats raising funds for several charities, including MDA. For my 60th, I did another solo ride End to End, raising funds to renovate an old Torah scroll that was then dedicated to the memory of the One and a Half Million Children that perished in the Holocaust. So for my 70th, I have set the goal to cycle solo from my residence in Southend to St. David's in Wales, from the east coast to the west coast, 350 miles in 5 days.
