Story
Stepping up to Sepsis this September, we will be working as a team from the Proskauer Rose (UK) LLP tax team (the Proskauer Tax Street Boys (And Girls)) to log as many steps as possible during the week of Monday 2 to Friday 6 September to raise money and awareness for the UK Sepsis Trust.
Team members taking part are: Richard Miller, Will Gomes, David Ward, Emma McDonnell, and Charlotte Ahamed.
More than 245,000 people are affected by sepsis with at least 48,000 deaths in the UK every year. 5 people die from sepsis every hour in the UK, but thousands of these deaths are avoidable as sepsis is often treatable if caught quickly.
Fundraising is at the heart of the fight against sepsis. It raises awareness, and sparks the question: What is sepsis? In this way, fundraising can help prevent thousands of deaths & unnecessary suffering through knowledge & awareness of the symptoms. Fewer than 1 in 3 people would recognise at least one of the signs of sepsis!
Funds will also to go the UK Sepsis Trust's vital support work, Public Awareness, Educating Health Professionals & helping people adjust to life after sepsis through accessing their Support Group network. UK Sepsis Trust also lobbies the government to support this cause and to make vital changes in areas such as the NHS.
Please sponsor our step challenge to support a charity looking to save lives through awareness and please find more information on sepsis and the work of the UK Sepsis Trust here: https://sepsistrust.org/?gad_source=1&gclid=EAIaIQobChMInPfB8t37hwMVrGJHAR2Q2TZ3EAAYASAAEgK5RvD_BwE
