Why are we climbing Snowdon?
On September 14th we will be taking on the challenge of climbing the 1085 meters of Snowdon, aka Yr Wyddfa. We are doing it to support Animals Asia, which is a wonderful charity that helps animals who are victims of cruelty and abuse. In particular, it helps bears who are victims of the horribly cruel bear bile trade. We’ll spare you the details here - there’s plenty of information on the internet or the Animals Asia website if you want to know more. Suffice to say that the charity deserves our support.
Our effort of 'climbing' (walking is probably a better word) Snowdon seems meagre compared to efforts of the charity’s workers who campaign tirelessly, and rescue and care for these poor bears, and other animals, but we want at least to do something to earn your donation! And whilst it's something that we, literally, took in our stride in our youth, it's probably going to be more of a challenge for a couple of sexagenarians.
