Story
Summary: Mum walking the height of Mont Blanc (highest mountain in The Alps) up Otley Chevin, West Yorkshire UK, with two-year old daughter Chloe (in carrier or pram!) every day throughout one month :) Mont Blanc elevation = 4810m (Averaging just over 155m per day)
The Plan: Chloe and I plan to climb the highest mountain in the Alps - Mont Blanc. Well...due to Covid-19 current government guidance we cannot climb it exactly so we thought we would create our own challenge!
We as a family are very fortunate to live at the base of a beautiful Local Nature Reserve - Otley Chevin Forest Park. Stunning woodland rises steeply to an incredible view point known as ‘Surprise View’ (280m above sea level).
Without wanting to keep Chloe confined in a pram or carrier for too long each day (whilst still being a tough challenge for me) we aim to walk up over half the Chevin and back every day for one month. We will walk an average elevation of just over 155m per day (it will vary depending on route we take) which will complete just over the total height of Mont Blanc by the end of the month - 4810m above sea level! We begin our journey on Saturday 20th June and end on Monday 20th July 2020.
We are fundraising for two charities - Chloe and I have one each. Click on the individual pages named 'Philippa Joslin' and you can read about why we are raising money. Please help support in anyway you can - we will need all the encouragement - thank you so much Xx
