We support asylum seekers and refugees to help them build a safe life in the UK.

Story

In August of this year, we're cycling 1,071 miles from Land's End to John O'Groats to raise money for Bristol Refugee Rights, an organisation that supports the welfare of refugees and asylum seekers in the Bristol area. The core team comprises three people: Andy Morgan, a writer and journalist; Phil Lane, a builder; and Tim-Fred Jatto, a fitness trainer. All of them live in Bristol in the UK. Tim comes from western Nigeria. Nine years ago, when he was twelve years old, he had to flee his homeland to escape religious persecution. Together with his family, he found refuge in the UK but then had to battle for seven long years to win the right to remain here. Throughout that time, it felt as if the future didn't exist. Life was a matter of surviving each day as it came. This trip will give Tim a rare view of his adopted home. Most refugees and asylum seekers only get to see a tiny corner of the UK, usually in a big city or town. Tim will experience the beauty and natural variety of these islands from close up, south to north. It should be an incredible journey for all involved. The core riders will be joined on various stages along the way by other friends.
