Story
We are doing the Spectrum Night Walk this World Autism Acceptance Week.
If you have met one person with autism, you have met one person with autism. Individuals living with autism are all impacted differently, with many having a variety of complex needs. Autism does not just affect the individual, but their families too (parents/guardians/carers, siblings, grandparents, etc…). The National Autistic Society has been providing support, guidance and advice, as well as campaigning for improved rights, services and opportunities to help create a society that works for autistic people.
“What would happen if the autism gene was eliminated from the gene pool? You would have a bunch of people standing around in a cave, chatting and socializing and not getting anything done.”
“The most interesting people you’ll find are ones that don’t fit into your average cardboard box. They’ll make what they need, they’ll make their own boxes.”
