Welcome to the Memorial JustGiving page for Paul Benneworth
Paul unexpectedly passed away on Tuesday 12th May at only 46 years old. Due to the coronavirus restrictions we are only able to have a very small private funeral, though we plan to hold a larger memorial when all the restrictions are over. In the meantime, many people have asked for suggestions of charities to donate to in Paul’s name, in lieu of flowers. We’ve chosen two.
The first is Tiny Lives, a Charity supporting sick and premature babies and their families at Newcastle’s RVI. In 2013, Paul ran the Enschede marathon to raise funds for Tiny Lives. Our son, Theo, had been treated there after he became ill a few days after birth. Our daughter Martha was born prematurely and received equally wonderful treatment at MST in Enschede. We chose this charity because we know Paul wanted other parents to be able to have the same support we had when our children were tiny.
The second charity is the Regional Studies Association, an organisation Paul had been involved with since he was a PhD student. We chose this to reflect both Paul’s professional interest in regional development and his deep affection for the regions he called home - north-east England and Twente, the Netherlands.
Use the first donate button to donate to Tiny Lives and the second to donate to the Regional Studies Association.
