Paula's Story

Hi everyone,

I'm taking on the Jurassic Coast Mighty Hike on 4th September with my sister Vanda O'hanlon in memory of my lovely friend Hetty.

Hetty died at the end of May this year so it will be an honour to dedicate all the funds raised for Macmillan in her memory.

I supported Hetty for over 5 year's within my volunteer Macmillan Carmarthenshire Support buddy role & we built up an amazing friendship in that time.

It is through donations & funds raised that Macmillan are able to offer this service to cancer patients & their families & I know through my own experience with Hetty that it is an extremely valuable service to so many families.

So any donations large or small will really make a difference to help many more families that could really benefit from this & more services that Macmillan provide.

So Thankyou so much for reading and for any donations that I receive, we can all make a difference & make life abit easier for them all.

Thank-you once again xx

Please feel free to share . Thanks 👍

Vanda's Story

Hi everyone,

I'm taking on the Jurassic Coast Mighty Hike on 4th September with my sister Paula Clarke in memory of our dad, Edwin Clarke.

Dad passed away in 2004, he died 4 days after his 65th birthday. He had pancreatic cancer, and only survived for a few weeks after diagnosis. He passed away in the comfort of his own home with care and nursing given by me, mum and my 3 sisters.

This was a really dark time for us, and I can clearly recall the visit from our Macmillian Nurse, for me it was as though she entered the room holding a light.

It is through donations & funds raised that Macmillan are able to offer this service to cancer patients & their families & I know through my experience, the peace of mind this can give.

£31 could pay for a Macmillan nurse for an hour, or £236 per day, helping people living with cancer and their families receive essential medical, practical and emotional support.

So any donations large or small will really make a difference to help many more families that could really benefit from this & more services that Macmillan provide.

So Thankyou so much for reading and for any donations that I receive, we can all make a difference & make life abit easier for them all.

Thank-you once again xx

Please feel free to share . Thanks 👍
