Monsoon season is always a time fraught with peril for Pakistan, where the rains cause landslides, floods, and other disasters.
Longstanding poverty, and the aftermath of previous flooding, has left the people critically vulnerable to flood disasters and endangered their safety.
In just the first three weeks of the season 60% of the normal monsoon rains have already fallen, causing flash floods, landslides, and swollen lake spillover. The most affected have been the regions of Balochistan, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Punjab where nearly 50,000 homes are damaged and 25,000 livestock are lost, and nearly 980 km of roadway and more than 60 bridges have been destroyed. The devastation is catastrophic, leaving more than 150,000 people just in Balochistan alone needing urgent humanitarian aid, but thousands of vulnerable people in all of these impacted areas are now homeless and uprooted from their communities.
Please support by donating to help the most vulnerable now.
