Story
Hello, and thank you for visiting our JustGiving page!
We are Mike Lacey, Rich Lacey, Sam Boex, Will Boex, and Kelvin Batt, five friends with a shared love for our oceans and a passion for mental health advocacy. Together, we've taken on a challenge that will not only test our physical endurance but also our resolve to make a difference in the world.
On the 2nd of June, we are setting off on an ambitious journey, paddleboarding over 200 miles from Plymouth to Bude. This 10-day adventure is more than just an expedition across the waters. We're using this opportunity to raise awareness for two critical causes close to our hearts: the protection of our oceans and mental health awareness.
The oceans are an invaluable resource. Not only do they sustain a vast array of life, but they also play a significant role in climate regulation. Yet, these very oceans are under severe threat from pollution and climate change. We want to draw attention to this pressing issue and raise funds for the incredible organization, Surfers Against Sewage. Their tireless efforts in advocating for cleaner seas are truly inspiring.
Equally important is the matter of mental health. In the hustle and bustle of modern life, mental wellbeing is often neglected. Through this challenge, we hope to emphasize the importance of mental health and encourage open conversations on the topic. We are raising funds for the Campaign Against Living Miserably (Calm), an organization doing important work in the field of mental health.
And there's a twist! We're not just paddling any boards, but ones we've built ourselves, thanks to Fyne Boat Kits. We're also incredibly grateful to Fourth Element for providing us with essential equipment for this expedition.
We would be thrilled if you could support us in this endeavor. Your donations will directly benefit Surfers Against Sewage and Calm, aiding them in their missions. As we paddle each mile, endure every wave, and overcome each challenge, your support will be the driving force that keeps us moving forward.
We are not just five friends on paddleboards. We are a team, an effort, a mission. And with your support, we can make a real, lasting impact. Join us as we paddle for the ocean, for the mind, and for a better tomorrow.
Thank you!
