Story
The Oxford Biotech community are coming together on 27 August 2022 to raise vital funds for Helen & Douglas House children’s hospice by jumping out of an aircraft.
This bespoke industry event will see an amazing group of people from across the Biotech sector take on the challenge of jumping at 13,000 feet to raise vital funds for Helen & Douglas House. This challenge is not for the faint hearted as participants will free fall through the clouds at over 120 miles per hour but fear not, they will be harnessed to a professional, parachute instructor to keep them safe.
Helen & Douglas House provide specialist care for children living with life-shortening and terminal conditions and provide support to their families. Based in Oxford, but supporting families from the surrounding counties, Helen & Douglas House was set up as the world's first children’s hospice. Since 1982, they have been helping children from birth to 18 years old to live their short lives to the full.
Helen & Douglas House provide one-to-one respite and end-of-life care at the hospice in Oxford, as well as at home and in hospital. Their amazing care makes it possible for families to make the most of their time together, even if that time is short.
As a charity, they rely almost entirely on financial support from the public to fund their incredible work. By supporting Helen & Douglas House you will be helping them provide the care and support that families need in the darkest of times and give them a place to be together and help them cope.
Thank you for your generous support!
