PRESS ON THE BLUE LINK FOR THE CHARITY OF YOUR CHOICE
What should an NHS Community nurse do when retiring in July after just short of 40 years service ? Cycle 185 miles solo around the Outer Hebrides for charity why not ? I'm cycling on an electric bike in aid of 4 charities, Donate to Cancer Uk in memory of of Gillian Stewart, ,Donate St Oswald's Hospice Newcastle in memory of Collete Da Prato the Maggie Centre Edinburgh ( no further donations will be taken for this charity as amazingly a large donation has ben received already) This is in memory of of my neighbour's best friend , special inspiring woman who have lost their life recently to cancer , all at too young an age, all in their early to mid 50's. I will also be thinking of another inspirational friend Siobheann Saville also taken too young and who remains in my thoughts always.
The forth charity is for a dear friend Gill who luckily has been successfully treated and received support from Donate to Ayrshire Cancer Care
The return trip from Edinburgh will be environmentally friendly being Electric all of the journey bar the ferries. You can choose which charity you wish to donate to press on the links in blue, either a preferred charity or more than one charily, all donations welcome big or small, they are all cancer related charities. I am hoping to try for each charity to have around equal donations although each person can choose their own preference so this may not be possible, I also have non just giving donations so will try to balance it all up.Wish me luck as I'm not a cyclist and I understand the summer weather in the Outer Hebrides can be a bit WILD bonus as no midges as too wild for them Update.. just been told that they do plan to join me as they are hardy and like the wind.
