Story
We are taking on the nineteenth Great East End Walk to raise vital funds to support St Joseph's Hospice. This unique 10-mile walk, celebrating all things East End, will take us through both well-trodden and lesser-known parts of London's East End and into the City of London.
St Joseph's Hospice is reliant on the kindness of supporters to provide high quality, specialist palliative care and support to people in the East London community who have a life-limiting illness. You cannot under estimate the difference this hospital makes in peoples lives. They don't just care for and provide for those who are unwell, but they care for and provide for their family and friends as well. Their service means that there is a proper space to stay so you can be near your loved one, counselling to help you through the rough patches, advice at each stage and the knowledge your loved one is in the best place possible for their care. This is all done with absolute commitment and kindness for the patients and their families.
To keep this service going they have to raise £16,000 each day! For example, £101 could pay for a community nurse to visit a patient in their own home, an important service for patients trying to maintain their independence. Like many charities St Josephs have felt the impact of Covid-19 on their fund raising. Despite this they have continued to do their best for the people of East London. Please do give generously so that they may continue to provide their excellent service.
