Marie Curie Hospice, Belfast provides expert care, guidance and support to people living with a terminal illness and their families.

Story

On Sunday 28th June 2020, Northern Ireland Civil Service Hockey Club are hosting a virtual relay marathon in which members of the club are competing across 6 teams. Each team will run a full marathon distance of 26.2miles. Each team member will run their leg of the race from and back to their own house, using technology to virtually hand over the baton to their teammate. When all teammates have finished their relay leg, the winning team claims bragging rights.

The club is fundraising for charities operating locally: Marie Curie Belfast, NI Children's Hospice and Action Mental Health.

Any donations will be gratefully received as a way to support local charities in this difficult time. Many charities are missing out on the fundraising opportunities provided by marathons normally run around this time of year. This is a small way for NICS Hockey Club to give back to some charities particularly close to members of the club.
