Story

The 'New Kids on the Dock' team consists of Abi Rae, Becky Cocker, Molly Fleming, Jo Kaufman and myself (Fran Fleming). We met in Nottingham many moons ago and have stayed in touch regularly ever since, with two of us even becoming sister-in-laws! Some of us sampled open water swimming together on a camping weekend last year where we jumped into a freezing cold lake in just our swimming costumes. We realised how invigorating it was, although not much swimming took place! Some of us haven't swam more than a couple of lengths for many years so we are working on technique, stamina and how to look good in a swimming cap (this one is particularly tricky!) We are definitely out of our comfort zone but hopefully the knowledge that we are raising money for this wonderful cause will spur us on.
